Rudbeckia fulgida Goldsturm

Stalwart of the late summer/early autumn border.

Gradually spreading clumps to 60-75cm tall, depending on soil and moisture available, are topped by upward facing golden yellow daisies with a prominent central boss of contarsting black stamens.

Likes sun on any reasonable soil. Has great seed heads which to local Goldfinch population enjoys before they are cut down. Easy

Rich, golden yellow daisies with prominent green central cone top sturdy stems to 1.8 metres tall from July - September. Self supporting in a border with neighbours surrounding it but may need some support in exposed sites. Any reasonable soil that doesn't bake dry in sun or light shade

Tall perennial that bears yellow, daisy-shaped flowerheads in late summer. These have central green discs and reflexed yellow petals that are held on wiry stems to 2m above deeply-divided foliage.
Grow on resonably retentive soil; height will be relative to available moisture in sun

Relative new comer that forms clumps to 1.2 metres topped by yellow daisies with narrow quilled petals from September - October. Makes a good cut flower as well as useful late border interest.
Likes sun on reasonably retentive soil that drains well in winter

Slightly variable as usually grown from seed but expect bushy, upright clumps 1-1.5 metres which are smothered in daisies boldly painted in gorgeous two tone orange and gold from late summer until first frosts.
Likes sun on well drained but retentive soil.

A vigorous variety producing many large, rich yellow flowers with a brown centre, and elegant, narrow, gently undulating petals held on tall wiry stems 1-1.5m tall in late summer and autumn.
