From basal clumps of slender dark green leaves, red tinted stems arise and produce a succession of large pale yellow flowers that last 24 hours and then fade to apricot as they start to collapse the following day.
Likes full sun on well drained soil and although not a long lived perennial (2-3yrs) it will self seed gently for many generatios
