A few months ago I had a new fence put up along the length of one side of the garden. It is much smarter than it's predecessor, but it's shiny, newness has been shouting out 'Look at me! ' ever since it arrived.
Today I painted it black and immediately it leapt backwards and the garden apeared to double in width. This is precisely what I had hoped to acheive and I feel quite smug :)
When I set up stall at plant fairs I always use a black table cloth because black makes all other colours stand out
Not only does the darker colour make the garden appear larger but it sets off the colours of my winter arrangement of Cornus, Pieris and Skimmia to great effect.
All I need now is an inflatable Snowman to complete my winter scene.....
